PAW-SOME....always together

I just think this page is so adorable...especially the photo's. One day a few months ago I was looking to see where my girls (dogs) were and I found then laying in the foyer- just like this together- facing each other with there paws touching- AWWW ...I had to quietly go get my camera- so I wouldn't disturb them, to catch this photo moment and I got it. They are always together, whether they are sleeping, eating or playing- I just gotta love my two girls (Jenna and Izzy) american eskies.

 This sketch is from Practical Scrappers July Challenge and I think I nailed this one...  I used a green brown cardstock and a die cut  from Imaginations and cut all the large flowers out of some paper I had in my stash and some blue and brown cardstock for the Cricut cuts.

 I used Mickey & Friends for the paw-some paws and chalked them for dimension and used Lyrical Letters for the words along with my Gypsy( this is such a great tool to have) A blue polka-dot ribbon, chalks Stickles, and pop dots. Other tools used was a glass cutting board, and an exacto knife

 And a wrote on a few blue strips of cardstock for sub titles. I really like how this turned out and love the colors- since the photos were either black and white or brown and white.

Layout for Practical Scrappers January Sketch

Nature- I just love doing outdoorsy layouts- and this is one that I really had a fun time doing this past weekend. The pictures are repeats -cause I do 4 books for my kids,, but the layouts are all different. This is a picture taken at our favorite spot in Marquette, Michigan that we visit at least once a year- a Family Tradition. This old fallen down tree trunk has been here for over 20 years and every time we go I have the kids sit on it and we take a few pictures. The tree seemed really big to them years ago, when they had to climb up to sit on it, and now they just step over it.

 Materials used for this page: Tan parchment paper by Paper Company, sprayed with Tattered Angels in 6 different glimmer mists, leave stamps called Summer Leaves with several different colors of inks,chipboard for the tree trunk and used chalks to color it, brown cardstock for mats on photos, twine for tree and corners of pictures, EK Success dimensional alpha stickers with glitter paints in copper and blue for title "Nature", and machine stitched around the edge of layout with a mustard color thread

This is for the sketch over at Practical Scrappers this month- and I will be also entering it at Frosted Designs to do a layout/project with three of more pictures/stamps this week.  This page took me some time to plan out plus I made the tree trunk out of chipboard and alot of spraying of different colored glimmer mists to certain areas of the layout.

Creative Scrappers weekly Challenge #123

Here is my take for this weeks sketch at Creative Scrappers this week of my home that I sold back in 2002. I tried something different this week I did many layers of paper. I saw this in Creating Keepsakes magazine -so I scrap lifted the idea and used the sketch from Creative Scrappers and I really like how it turned out.

I will be applying this also over at Practical Scrappers for this weeks challenge of Stamps. Materials used are the following: K&Company, Anna Griffin and Newspapers were used. I burned the edges of the newspaper. My Angel Company- bird and leaf stamps, cut out letters for the titles, cardboard-crimper, chalks, inks and  pop dots

Twas the night before Christmas"

I know it still kinda summer out and here I am doing a Christmas layout---but that's how it works when I'm doing all my scrapbooks in chronilogical (spelled ?) order and I can't start the next year of pictures till I get this years  done. So here is my take on this weeks sketch at Sketches in Thyme. I thought this layout would work out great with the hanging stockings in place of the hearts like on the sketch. Also will be applied to Practical Scrappers ribbon challenge this week.

I like to take a picture of our Christmas Tree every year on Christmas Eve with all the presents surrounding it for my scrapbook-great memories for me. It takes me 2 days to put up my tree and all the holiday decor in the house- so I like to capture that. I used My Minds Eye paper and misc scraps, red & green inks, pop dots, red sequoin ribbon, white lace ribbon,border and scallopped punches, stickles, black 3-D gel pen and the stockings were cut outs from some holiday paper.

Whos's Who?

This is a take from this weeks sketch over at Sketchabilities #26- which was a fun layout to work with I think I will be doing another layout sometime in the future with this sketch. I used Basic Grey papers, felt flowers, buttons, thread for paper piercing and hand stitching the leaves, swirls around the photo border, cut outs from Imaginisce papers, stickles, sticker letters, black marker and pop dots. Since I have a few buttons on this page I will be applying this layout also at Practical Scrappers this week.

 These photos are of my cousin and her twin girls Kaylin and Aubrey (not sure which one is which)-I have the hardest time telling them apart unless she dresses them in different clothes and then I have to remember that. This was taken over the fourth of July weekend in Michigan back in 2002-when the girls were quiet and shy and only 2 years old.

SOLD- our old home in Wadsworth, Il back in 2002

This layout brought back some good and not so good memories. I just loved this house-my ex and I built this home in 1991 and I raised my 4 children here for several years as as single mom-so when it came time to move on and sell this place it was a hard thing to do back in 2002. So the phrase in the bottom right hand corner is the saying we had on a sign in the front porch "The House that Milt built". So with that I am entering this layout over at Frosted Designs for a saying or quote on your layout. Also over at Practical Scrappers this week for the use of buttons on your layout/project. I have not journaled on this page yet because it is a page for my son and I want him to tell me his thoughts about that day we moved out. I used several papers from K&Company paper stack, inked and sanded some edges, scalloped punched for the floral embellishments added threaded buttons and stickles, and some blue shiny chipboard letters for SOLD.

Dogs are like family too!

No, its not the same layout-I had so much fun with Izzy's layout I had to do one of Jenna also- so a 2 page layout kind of. I couldn't do one and not the other- that would not be fair.Alot of people tell us they look like twins-but they are from 2 different litters and they are 1 1/2 months apart. So here is a layout for the same challenges at Sketchy Thursdays, color challenge of green, purple, black and squares at embellishmagazine, and Practical Scrappers to use white gel pens/markers.

 I used black cardstock, Daisy D purple paper, Deja Views apple paisley paper,white gel pen for hand doodling  around the edges and title words (hand drawn), 2 square punches, white foam sticker letters for names, and pop dots

Dogs are like children with fur.

I love to take pictures of my Eskies-all my children are grown up and moved out- so now the girls (dogs) get all the attention. Again I have combined one layout this week for several challenges. The sketch is from Sketchy Thursdays- the color challenge of lime green, purple, black and using squares is from embellishmagazine and Practical Scrappers has a white pen challenge.

 Used black cardstock, Daisy D purple paper, Deja Views apple paisley paper, 2-square punches, white foam sticker letters, pop dots, white gel pen for hand doodling edge and title words. I just love this color combo and like the simplicity of the layout with the black and white photos. Which in the sketch from Sketchy Thursdyas they had circles and I just changed them into the squares

Our !st new Puppy

Here is a layout I did awhile ago- Our 1st puppy-Jenna. But I will be leaving for a camping weekend and don't have time to scrap a page for the Practical Scrappers Challenge for friday. The challenge is to do something that is your 1st of something. So here is mine My first puppy-isn't she the cutest puppy only 4 weeks old and 2 lbs-a little american eskimo. I used doggy paw print paper and chipboard and painted the letters on for her name and tied with ribbon and did alittle journal spot . The title is a letter template and then painted in white.

Here is a layout with one 1 embellishment- which is very hard to do. Which is for the challenge over at Practical Scrappers this week for their anniversary daily challenges. With this layout I chose a brick colored paper and just stamped the title around the edge and colored it white with a white gel pen- so I'm not counting the title as an embellishment.  My rope or twine around the pictures is my one embellishment which is perfect for this layout. This was my two little boys years and years ago playing cowboys one day so I thought what a great photo op this would be. I had these pictures layoing around for some time and wasn' sure how to scrap them

I remember when...

I just love this layout- the colors are just beautiful together and I love the hummingbirds - usually don't see these cute little feather friends in layouts much. Well this is my take on the challenge at Sketches by Tamara this week and also a color challenge at Embellish Magazine for using pink, green and brown. These colors were my inspiration for this layout and I couldn't be happier on the way it turned out.
I used Sandylion-pink floral paper, avocado & pink cardstock, misc green patterned papers. Angel Company stamps , which I chalked and highlighted with a fine brown marker. Rhinestones, cotton candy Stickles, saddle brown ink and other doodling with Zig brown marker and title is Stampendous stamps.This  will qualify for the daily challenge of One photo in a layout for Practical Scrappers also.

Graduate 01'

This is another layout of my DD's 8th grade graduation in 2001 with me , daughter/ her great grandmother in the pictures, which since she has passed away so this is a special picture for her scrapbook. I will be applying this to the Challenge at Imaginisce's August Sketch challenge and also for using the word one or #1 in a project at Practical Scrappers  one year Anniversary daily challenge this week.

list of supplies used: White cardstock sprayed with Frost -Glimmer Mist, DCWV -shiny blue floral paper, misc scraps in red and white floral patterns. EK Success border punch, flower punches, red brads, polka-dot ribbon, baby blue- Stickles, red and perwinkle inks, LePlume- steel blue marker, 6x6 template"mini pansy" and Cricut cartridge A child's Year for diploma, cap and Graduate.

Flock Together

I love this photo that I took back in 2000 of my mother and all her siblings and her mother- we have a very close family and get together often, but I always forget to get everyone together to take that special photo and I'm glad to have this one because 2 of them have passed away since this was taken. I will be applying this sketch towards this weeks challenge at Sketchy Thursdays. Materials used are American Crafts papers, moss, chocolate and teal cardstock, buttons, bird and cage stamps, stickles, maroon thread, brown ink, scalloped punches for the flowers, and Magenta fine glitter. Used cricut cartridges Gypsy Font and A child's Year and welded with my Gypsy.I will also be entering this layout over at Practical Scrappers Anniversary week for using your favorite product or supply- and my favorite is paper. I like to cover the whole page and make my own embellishments from paper- like i did with the flowers, leaves and border

All Together

Here is another wonderful sketch by Liz Qualman over at her blog My Little Sketch Blook that I did this week. I did a pretty simple one with just a few embellishments yet I used several items on this page also, they add up quick. So I will be applying this layout over at Practical Scrappers also for using more than 7 items on a page.

Materials and supplies used: My Mind's Eye papers, pink cadstock, misc papers for flowers, Ek Success floral punches,Making Memories floral brads, inks in moss, lt green, orchid and pink, Thin glue dots, rhinestones in 3 different pinks and white, Glimmer Mists in Frost, green zig writer and a green stardust gel pen,journal with Zig pure pink, adhesive spray and Stampendous Glitter called sunflower. I used the Cricut cartridge Gypsy Font and welded the title with my Gypsy.

Growing Up

I had a great time doing this layout this week for the sketch at  Sweet Peach Crop Shop. This photo is all 4 of my kids during my  second daughter's 8th grade graduation back in 2001-and that was awhile ago and they are All growing up- so fast my baby is almost 20 years old. Materials used in this sketch are the following: K&Company papers, Prima flowers, from Sweet Peach Crop Shop are the vellum and die cuts,and green ribbon,stickles in green confetti and teal, glimmer mists in frost, pearl, lavendar, and candy apple red, brown and aqua ink, brads, scalloped punches, fiskar edged scissors, black and brown Zig writers, and chipboard letters. I also used a rubber stamp with the words celebrate to stamp on the flowers before I misted them and tied scrapper's floss to the brads. I will also be applying this layout to Practical Scrapper's for using more thatn 7 different items on a layout

A=Adventure is Worthwhile

Here is a sketch that I did on my own this week and applying towards Practical Scrapper's challenge to use 7 items or more on a layout. These are pictures taken on my 2 DS in Marquette, Michigan out on Presque Isle by Lake Superior. It is so beautiful up there with the blue lake, birch trees and all the high bluffs with all the rocks for the boys to be so adventurous for hours on end. I used the following items in layout: Several papers, cardstock, a die cut from Sweet Peach Crop Shop-cut in half and used in top and bottom, Vellum for title, Dragonfly rub-ons, Royal E-Z rub on words, Chipboard letters, scalloped punches, gold brads, brown ink, couple colors of chalk for the hand cut birch trees, and brown Zig pen for journaling..

Siblings

This is a picture of all 4 of my children back when my 2nd daughter was graduating from 8th grade, taking these photos outside in the front yard -a serious one and a goofy one- which they were known to do. I turned this sketch sideways to fit my photos better from the sketch at Sketches in Thyme #6 and this will also be applied over at Practical Scrappers to use some items in your stash that is over a year old, which alot of this page is.

Misc papers were used and some scrap strips that I have saved, Fiskar edger scissors, scalloped punches, cream paper flowers chalked and attached with buttons and some older scrappers floss by Karen Foster tied on each of them. Matted the photos in a lt. lavendar cardstock to pull out the colors in my one daughters shirt, which this layout is going in her scrapbook. The title "siblings" is from an old book by Hot off the press Artsy collage letters, which I pop dot them to some scrap dark green paper. The journal tag is new from Sweet Peach Crop Shop which I just received in one of my prize packages I won a few weeks back, for the journaling which I still have to do.

Let it Snow- Izzy

I know it is summer but these photos of my Eskie "Izzy" worked well with this layout from My Little Sketch Blook this week and they happen to be when she was playing in her first snowfall. I will be applying this layout to Liz Qualman's sketch challenge and to Practical Scrappers weekly "embossing" challenge. I used  many papers from Recollections, DCWV(embossed squares), My Mind's Eye, and Stemma and solid colored cardstocks. I used my Fiskars circle cutter,  several snowflake stamps, inks in spa and coffee bean and white , clear stardust  and white gel pens, heat embossing gun and stardust & white embossing powders, brown zig pen for journaling.

Cheryl's 8th Grade Portrait

I just love it- love it- love it!!! My DD's 8th grade school portrait and I pulled the colors that she was wearing out in this layout and her golden hair. I am applying this layout to the Practical Scrappers challenge this week "embossing".This is also from a sketch at Creative scrappers a few weeks back both of these blogs really inspire me in my layouts. I used many papers from"Scrap Works","Blue Cardigan Designs",and "The Paper Loft" and golden color cardstock for matting, cream cardstock for stamping butterflies and a saying with a bit of journaling. Added a border of cream lace and embossed the butterflies in white, blue and gold colors. Stickles in purple, teal and diamond was used, gold metallic marker. Stamps are Martha Stewart "butterflies" and Heidi Grace for the saying, and some individual words stamped in lavendar on the background paper

Beach Bums

Here is another summer beachy layout for the Practical Scrappers Sketch challenge and their monthly challenge themed "Just Beachy"  I used We R Memory Keepers sun shape( half of it) and some teal background paper and some photo paper that I sprayed with 3 colors of glimmer mists and then cut out some water spouts, drew some highlights in with a white gelly roll marker and used pop dots to make them really pop.I doodled with black marker some frames for the photos and added a Fun in the Sun vellum and a chipboard letter for the Title Beach Bums. I then journaled in the middle of the sun and added some more doodling to that also. This layout is for my son Eric's scrapbook.
