My son's looking like a "Cool Dude"

This picture was taken of my son Brian getting ready for his 8th grade graduation dance back in May of 2004-isn't he COOL looking? I will be applying this over at SOUS for their great sketch challenge- once again, I gave this alot of thought and like the outcome of this layout for my son's scrapbook.
Papers used were Kaiser Kraft, Pebbles Inc. and white cardstock. Also I cut a piece of acetate in an oval shape and placed on top of the papers and used slick writer in black and Galazy marker in white for my own doodling around the edge of acetate. Made some circle embellishments with circle punch and white eyelets using my crop-a-dile. Then with my Gypsy for welding the title used the cartridge Lyrical Letters on white cardstock and layered them one underneath the acetate and one on top. Other items were pop dots, black marker, yes paste, brown and black ink.
Here is a side view of the layout to see the acetate a little better. I like how masculine this page turned out for the Cool Dude! SOUS=Stuck on U Sketches see my left side bar for link.

  1. Fantastic take on the sketch and its such an amazing boy layout.. I have two teenage boys and I struggle with their layouts A LOT :)
Thanks for joining us girls over at SOUS this week..

  2. Hey Debbie!
Great project! Love the colors and the masculine prints and how you popped some parts, also how the white title pops!
Thanks sooooooooooooooo much for joining in our first challenge of the year!!!!!

  3. I am super impressed how many layouts you have been posting lately! Keep them coming!

  4. Love the wintry look of your blog! A cool layout, too - love the side view!

  5. Another great LO Debbie! And yes... he is a cool dude! I love the way you put the dots on your letters and then carried it over on the circle! Love this one!
    barb :)

  6. Yes he does!!! Great take on the sketch, Debbie, it's a perfect "guy" layout!! Great color choice and I love the pp!! So glad you joined us over at SOUS this week!!! Hugs!!

BTW wanted to let you know how I attached my paper to the canvas I did... I am the super glue momma!!! First I used my tombo runner on each piece of pp, and then I added a very fine bead of super glue around the edges and down the middle of each piece... It did not bleed through and the back is perfect... But be sure and don't use toooo much.. A little goes a long way!! I add super glue to everything except my photos and anything that touches my photos!! It keeps the heavier embellies where they belong!!! Hugs!!!

  7. Debbie, this is a super cool layout. I especially love the way you did your title both under and over the acetate! Great doodling too! Thanks again for playing along with us. We appreicate you!

  8. Very cool indeed .. fabulous Masculine page ... luv X:)

  9. Very creative layout Debbie! I always find "boy" layouts so hard to do! Love the special touch with your doodling! Thanks for joining us at Stuck On U Sketches!
