I'm so glad you stopped by to see my Sketch Along Tuesdays- Design Team layout- which I (Debbie Bakk) designed and Debbie Burns drew up for this week over at Frosted Designs. I am also donating the prize package (sponsor) for this sketch challenge.. I am so excited about these handmade flower doileys that I have been making lately- so I thought you would also be excited about entering your take on this great sketch to have a chance to win some of these beautiful flowers and lace trims to add to your future projects( I have a picture of them later in my post)
Here is the sketch we designed for you to work with in the next two weeks- you have until June 27th-Monday afternoon to enter/link up your creation
Now onto the 2 page layout that I created - and of course - there are a few of my flower doileys in this layout. This is a 2-page ( which, if you want you can interpret into a 1 page for your entry) of my Parents Wedding Day and a actual newspaper clipping of my mother- her engagement announcement. So this was a very special page for me to create & cherish- foreverDCWV from Lace & Linens Paper Stack and K&Company papers , cream and black cardstock for the cuts of the oval and title-subtitles-
Cricut cartridges for all the cuts were from Serenade, Heritage, TieThe Knot and Wild Card.
The lace around the oval frame is one of my handmade laces that I inked with one of Tim Holtz distressing Inks to give it the old world look- or you could die it also. I then added some pearls to every other scalloped edge loop. Which ties in this page with the other page -color wise with the newspaper clipping of my mother's photo
Another lace I made I used to go in the middle of the page and added a string of pearls across the top of that. I used Fiskar edger scissors-many silk flowers and some of my handmade doiley flowers scattered on both pages- which I also added some pearls to the center of them.
The picture of my mother is a bit discolored- because it was the actual newspaper clipping which I just photo copied it- but I like how it turned out and gives it that heritage-vintage feeling. The other photos are the old black and white polaroid pictures from back then and of course the original photo of my dad. Their Wedding was held back in August of 1958.
Here is a close up of some of my handmade flower doileys( some on top or on the bottom of the silk flowers) which I left natural . Also a few Maya Road decorative pins were added to a few flowers. I used a Ultra fine glitter to all the cricut cuts- birdcage- dove and church also the words to add a bit of sparkle - but not to much- just enough. I hand drew some flourishes in behind some of the flower accents with a fine black marker.
So here is a picture of the handmade crocheted flower doileys -lace trims and a few decorative pins that I also handmade ( the sponsor prize) that will be given to one lucky winner- with an entry to the sketch challenge over at Sketch Along Tuesdays-at Frosted Designs-so be sure to join us- we would love to see what you create with this wonderful sketch. I also have more info for you if you are interested in purchasing some of these handmade crocheted flower doileys and lace trims from me- go to my side bar- under Pages and click on Handmade Items just for you-or click on picture of doiley flowers- I have a seperate page explaining all the details about them - just send me an email.
