A is for ANGEL

This is such a precious photo taken of my second cousin- so angelic. I had to scrap it for her mother (my cousin). It's not the best quality photo- since I copied it from facebook, but its still is nice to do this layout - which will be a surprise when I mail it to them.I will be applying this layout over at Challenge me Happy- Anything goes.

 I took some creme colored floral paper for background and inked the edges in brown then added a cricut cut from Home Accents in blue and a colorful floral paper and layered them on top. Then added the photo which i wrapped some silk shiny ribbon on the two corners and then added stickles all around the edge of photo. Then went inot my flower stash and grabbed a few white -purple and yellow flowers and layered them on the three corners. Added the large letter A (Heritage- Cricut cartridge) with some rhinestones also for the centers of all flowers & more ribbon in top left corner. Cut out my own green leaf stems and inked them. Also I had handmade my own flourishes on acetate with a lavendar tulip paint  and cut them out after they dried and added them in three areas of this layout.

Just loving all the colors and how beautiful little Anakin ( her name) is- I'm sure they will appreciate this when it arrives in the mail...I really enjoyed doing this layout also.

Is an Owl considered a bird?

Here is my take for the 12 days of Christmas over at Frosted Designs blog..not sure if an Owl is a bird but if not there are 2 birds on the tree branch in the background of this page.  I used several papers from my stash and tore the edges and layered them then added a Mambly acetate sheet ove the top of it which has the owl and birds on them. I then placed some chalk colored areas behind the owl to make it stand out more and some cut out moths from some designer papers added the brads in the corners to attached the acetate sheet to page

2 page layout of Dave's falls

While at my scrapbooking retreat a month ago I did another 47 pages for my childrens scrapbooks and this 2-pager was just one of the many that I did with same pictures ( one for each of the 5 books I do)  and this one is for my book. and it was my favorite one.

It was a family weekend trip to Michigan and I finally was able to get all the kids together to go for the 4th of july celebration. But on our way up we stopped at Dave's Falls in upper Wisconsin and did some sightseeing and picture taking- for the scrapbooks of course!
Supplies used: SEI floral pattern -embossed,  Best Creations-acetate on both sides over green paper. Dark & light grey- double matting, K&Company borders, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, handmade flowers (out of paper towels) rhinestones, Stickles, 8 gem stone brads, journal tags, and misc. chipboard embellies. All Dolled Up...

This is for the challenge over at Sketchy Thursday this week and I found some older photos of my daughter at a variety of her high school dances- so I thought I would do a page for her. I was trying to pull the colors out of the dresses that my daughter and her friend  were wearing on top pic throughtout the layout.

The background floral paper is by Paper Studio"Boho Chick paper stack" and the strips are from my stash including the gold ribbon and the pinky/purple floral acetate by Mambly. I used my circle cutter for the musical paper and found some sticker alphas in the purple color that I wanted to pull out and applied them with pop dots. Inked the border of layout with black

I needed something else for this page - but wasn't sure whated- I didn't want to put flowers on this one- so I was looking at the photo and noticed the gold necklace my daughter was wearing and thought...I can make that. So I took out my acetate and Stickles and drew the necklace on the acetate then added a fine glitter in gold to really shine more than the Stickles. I then trimmed around the necklace that I had drawn and placed it on the page and I kinda like how it turned out. So why stop there I added some more gold stickles to the floral pattern paper in several areas and  purple Stickles in centers for some more added bling.

Here's a Layout for Frosted Designs

Challenge this week was very easy and simple to do-use three or more photo's/stamps, etc. on a project. Now that could mean I could enter all of my layouts I did this week almost, so I'll just pick one for now.

And this was on my children BEING SILLY while in Michigan during the 4th of July weekend-at our favorite place to visit- Presque Isle, Marquette. I used a greenish grey cardstock for background, cut a white circle with circle cutter and inked with Jim Holtz distresse inks- with a few colors for my journaling and title areas and placed the pictures over that. Then I found this pre-designed piece of acetate (K&Company) that fit perfectly over the top and said whoola..I thought to myself I have to do something more to this page-this was way to simple and fast to be done. Used brown Zig writer for my journaling. I will be applying this over at Frosted Designs.

My son's looking like a "Cool Dude"

This picture was taken of my son Brian getting ready for his 8th grade graduation dance back in May of 2004-isn't he COOL looking? I will be applying this over at SOUS for their great sketch challenge- once again, I gave this alot of thought and like the outcome of this layout for my son's scrapbook.

 Papers used were Kaiser Kraft, Pebbles Inc. and white cardstock. Also I cut a piece of acetate in an oval shape and placed on top of the papers and used slick writer in black and Galazy marker in white for my own doodling around the edge of acetate. Made some circle embellishments with circle punch and white eyelets using my crop-a-dile. Then with my Gypsy for welding the title used the cartridge Lyrical Letters on white cardstock and layered them one underneath the acetate and one on top. Other items were pop dots, black marker, yes paste, brown and black ink.

Homecoming- Cheryl's

I tried something different in this layout- I used some decorate acetate and cut it as a frame for the 3 photos, since the background on the photo's was kinda dark and plain. The screen print was by Mamby in gold, K&Company papers, chipboard painted and then stamped with black ink and then gold glitter painted over that. Title "Homecoming is handwritten with black marker, silk flowers with Stickles "gold" gliiter in the center of flowers, Fiskar circle cutter for the 4 circles that I also stamped the word friends  several times and painted gold glitter paint over the top. Made a journal tag and used several inks-gold, black ans sky blue throught the layout.  This is a sketch from Sketchabilities #28- and I had fun doing this layout.

This is my second born daughter at her Homecoming in 2002. She decided on this gold/tan dress for the dance-which matches her hair color-but doesn't stand out to much with her fair skin color. But she look beautiful as always...

Aubrey, Jayden & Kaylin

 How this for bright bold colors (hot pink, pink, green and black) that we were to use over at Ella's Pink Elephant  Sketch #16 for this week . These photos are of my second cousins back in 2001 The Twin girls and Jayden were the newest addition to our large family. I used Recollections green polka dot paper, Hambly hot pink screened acetate, black and lt. pink cardstock and a black and white gingham paper. I used several punches on this layout which also qualifies for the Frosted Designs challenge this week to use border punches. EK Success flower punch, Martha Stewart border punch, Fiskars edger scissors and a scallop punch. Pink and green buttons and Stickles and black fine pen for writing and doodling a bit.

Just add Water

Now how this for a summer beachy layout- at the beach, pool and rafting on a river all in one weekend a few years back up in Shawano Wisconsin on a family trip. I'm using this layout toward 2 challlenges this week at Practical Scrappers for the Just Beachy theme and Sketches in Thyme for their weekly sketch.

 I used papers from DCWV Summer Stack,sandpaper, colored cardstock,and acetate for the title and sub titles. I cut  from designer papers the flip flops, shells, and blue palm tree with summer beach words, cut my own waves to fit as the border and circle cutter for the one picture and journal spot. I then drew my title on with a vellum writer and painted with white and blue acrylic paints on the back and trimmed out and attached with pop dots

I torn some papers and the sand paper to look like the beach and used orange and brown inks on some of the edges. So lots of water does equal= FUN in the summer time, my kids had a great time that weekend.
