Volleyball Anyone?

Our family loves to play volleyball- so that they did in the sands of Jamaica- along with many others. They played several times during our week vacation down there and had some serious competition going on.  As you can see the weather was hot and sunny as by the burn on one of the girls backside in the picture- oops I think she forgot to put on the suntan lotion!
Since we were in an all-inclusive resort the waiters or hostesses keep the players well hydrated at all time..lol
I used the cartridge Sports Mania for the volleyball title and Spike it and the volleyaballs on the right side and the banner to. But, after I put them on it was missing something so I hand drew the volleyball net on and out lined the banners in black. another layout for my Jamaican book. thanks for joining me and happy scrappin!

Take me out to the Ballgame

Here is a layout that I did for Sketchy Thursdays this week and I really enjoyed doing this one- because it has the boyish look to it -no flowers or butterflies, and I really enjoyed the simplicity of the sketch. I used misc. stash papers with no company names on them- so they must be older, misc. older sport stickers tags which I matted on cardstock and tied red cord onto them, Used Cricut cartridges Sports Mania and Jasmine for the title and cutouts, black marker for journaling and white cardstock for background.
This is my youngest son when he was in 8th grade and the whole class was taken to the Brewers game up in Milwaukeee-( we live in Illinois on the border of Wisc. and my son is a White Sox fan) way to much fun was had by all and here are a few goofy pics my son gave me to scrap. I also did this for Fabulous Friday challenge over at Frosted Designs this week to use tickets, stamps and envelopes on a project- be sure to go check that out by clicking on name of blog .

She's a Junior with Style

I just love the simplicity of this layout that I did of my daughter's Junior school portrait. I used my Cuttlebug/folders to emboss all the stars with different patterns and then lightly sanded, pop dotted them added a button with scrappers floss tied on. Used cricut cuts for the title and sub title and inked some edges in brown and outlined words in black ultra fine marker. Papers used were Pink Paislee/Street Market,  Kaiser and Coredinations. Cartridges used were Graphically speaking and Sports Mania.
This is for the challenge this week over at Frosted Designs- Sketch along Tuesday which I will be entering this layout.
I found the sub title appropriate because of the fashion statement these girls were showing by ripping and tearing there shirts for the torn look-                                                                                     this was IN Style in 2003.

Champs-basketball

Here is my layout/project for FCCB #35 this week for the color and shape challenge of green and a circle. I had a bit of a different take on this week challenge-since I do alot of layouts and I was working on my boys sports pages. I thought basketballs are circles and their school colors are green and white so why not enter this. So I used some sports paper for background and matted the photos in green cardstock and then got my Gypsy out and went straight to the Sports Mania cartridge and found exactly what I needed for this page. Champs for the title, some basketballs and a clipboard-perfect.

Viking Football- 2 page layout

I really enjoyed doing this layout this weekend-FOOTBALL....These photos bring back some great memories of all the games, practices and cheering (alot of cheering) of my youngest son. He put 110 %  effort into all of his games and it worked out great he was always the star player, which I was so proud of him at every game. I'm entering this layout over at Sketches in Thyme #21 this week for a 2 page layout which worked out great for these photo's. I used black cardstock and some football sport papers by Moxie, Scrappin Sports, and Teresa Collins. I inked all the edges in brown or black. I used my Cricut cartridge for the clipboard from Sports Mania. But what I really liked on this layout is the football laces I did with cream satin ribbon on 4 areas of the page, using my Big Bites to punch all the holes and then lacing them up. Other embellishments used were alot of the cut-outs from the papers and football brads, epoxy cheer sticker, and some black and gold stars, and Alpha's tiles for the Viking title. I have not journaaed on the clipboard yet-because I have to ask my son exactly what positions he played I can't remember, he played so many of them.

My boys and there Volleyball...

Both of my boys just loved the game of Volleyball and so when they reached the age to join team sports in grade school they did them all , but Volleyball was there favorite. So I did a few pages the other day-which I found to be kinda hard to do-no flowers or thrills with this topic. So I went to my Gypsy and found a few cuts that pertained to this sport (Sports Mania) and did some simple layouts that I really like.
Each page is a little different in the layout ,but used all the same papers (large volleyballs), and cuts for each one-so I finished 2 pages fairly quickly. I used a white gel pen to trace inside the cuts and add AUGS (school initials) and the year.
My boys are only 17 months apart so there was a bit of competition all the time between these two-but when they were on the same team -Watch out they were good.... Top photo is Eric in 7th grade and bottom  is Brian in 8th grade.

Practical Scrappers Sketch by 5/1

These are  some pictures of our summer volleyball team years ago(2001) and we took first place...pretty good for a bunch of "Old Timers". I used two patterned papers and solid cardstock for all the cuts and chalked most of them. The carts I used for this layout are P.S.- Were #1, FMK-pizza, SM-volleyball,Spike it, AE-for the teal swirls, GBS- for the triangles in banner.I'm using this sketch for the Practical Scrappers challenge due by May 1st.

It's finally Friday...now on to scrappin

This has been a very long week at work...I didn't think Friday was ever gonna get here. So when I finished my last bus route I headed straight home and to the craft room. I did my first L.I.D. sketch challenge tonight and it was fun. I did 2 of the sketches and they turned out really nice. Then I took some more pics and posted them on cricut.com in the layouts. Now I have to get to bed cause I have a few friends coming to the all day scrap tomarrow and have to be up early for that. I'm gonna enjoy this weekend in the scrap room and my goal is to do 10 pages, that should be easy to do, to keep me on track with my monthly/yearly goals of 1 page a day for 2010.
