Finally got some time to do a layout-its been weeks

The sketch is from The Scrappiest #135- and I just finished it in time tonight to post it by tomarrow. I had an open window of about an hour- so I went downstairs and did this layout of my son's Graduation party back in 2005. We had made a Pinata and had all the kids blindfolded and then had to use a flyswatter to break it open...you guessed right---that took awhile to do -even for the big 8th grade boys.. It was so fun to watch them attempt this.
 I used all scraps from my stash -circle cutter, circle punch, black and yellow inks, several brads and did the drawing of the flyswatter myself and 3-D dimensional marker for the title.

Great Lengths-

Here is my take from Sketch #128 at The Scrappiest- the photo's are not the best -a bit blurry- but I remember this moment all to well a few years back of my son and his long golden locks right before we cut them all off- so he could join the high school football team. He was kinda worried about this- since he believed he was a chick magnet with this hair. Which he probably was- but football was more important and he said he could grow it back if he wanted too after the season.

 I used all papers from the Recollections stack - which I just got the other day at Micheals for 1/2 off what a great deal this was. I added big gold brads to the corners of the photo's and journal strips on the side. With my Gypsy and Cricut Expressions I cut out the golden swirls to represent LOCKS of hair and the Handle with Care sign and the title Great Lengths from several cartridges- Accent Essentials, Graphically Speaking and Ashley's Alphabet. I inked all the edges with Memories-Chestnut

The Scrappiest #123

Here are a few candid shots that someone else took and gave me- of my daughter and son when they were visiting their sister at College for family week back in 2005. I used the sketch from The Scappiest #123 for this layout and used all scrap papers from my huge stash. I told myself I have to start using my scraps more often because the pile is getting so large. I believe some of the papers are My Minds Eye and the others I'm not sure of. Also used scallop punch, Stickles, blue inks, painted with blue acrylic for mats on photos, pop dots and blue zig marker for my own lettering for titles.

The Scrappiest #122 sketch challenge

2 gruelsome twosome- my son and his look a like friend " Shaggy" at Universal Studios back in 2005. This was such a comical moment when we just happen to run into Scooby and Shaggy and my son Eric at the time kinda looked like Shaggy and they both just happen to have on kinda the same color of clothes. So we had to get a photo of this moment- they thought it was pretty cool also. And the other pic is of my son and daughter by the mouth of Jaws at the park also. This layout if for my other son's scrapbook- who was there- but had an attitude this whole trip and didn't want to be in any pictures.

I will be applying this layout at The Scrappiest and also over at  Scrapbookers Anonymous- which you are to use mini papers at least 3 of them which I have used 4 of them in this layout. I used K&Company and Provo Craft bitty scraps pads for all the papers. Brown and cream cardstock and used a Cricut cut for the large square scalloped edge with some eyelets in the 4 corners. I also used K&Company chipboard embellies and some twine in several areas. I used white acrylic paint for the mat borders and blue and brown inks for distressing, and a distressing tool for the edge of blue mini pad paper

The Scrappiest challenge "Cherish"

Another simple but nice layout I did this weekend for my daughters book( she is the one dressed in the lavendar dress). I used Deja Views purple floral background, The Paper Studio grey with swirls and My Mind's Eye paper and for cut out flowers. Martha Stewart border punch, lilac ink, chipboard for title "Cherish" from my stash and pop dots. So I will be applying this to Sassy Lil Sketches this week for their sketch challenge.

The Scrappiest #112

Hopefully this isn't to late to enter-just finished it and realized the new sketch already came out-well going to post this anyway. This is the last Walt Disney layout ---yeah!!! until we went again a few years later, but I deal with that when the time comes. I'm just glad to have finished so many of these layouts in the past month. This one is for my son Eric's book titled EPCOT and the sketch is from The  Scrappiest #112 which worked out great for these photo's.

I used Little Yellow Bicycle-Compass paper,shiny silver scrap paper which I dry embossed with an old fiskars template in my Cuttlebug, akso embossed the white cardstock paper in the background, Stars and Title were Cricut cuts from Gypsy Font and Plantin Schoolbook cartridges, rick rack, red & gold star sequoins, red and yellow Stickles and pop dots.

It's Magic- again

Its Magic- again another page for the 3 different albums I'm working on- I can't wait to get these Walt Disney pictures done and work on something new, almost finished a few more to go.
 This layout is for The Scrappiest #111 sketch this week and I used My Mind's Eye- K&Compnay( Daydreams) white cardstock and misc strips of papers. Chipboard buttons were heat embossed in white and yellow and ribbon tied on, Fence was cut from Heritage Cartridge from Cricut and chalked in light brown, Inkadinkado stamp on the background with Stickles added to the middle, and gold sticker alphas for the title.

Nature is Calling..

Here is a comical layout of my son-Nature is Calling. We were on a camping trip and he just couldn't wait any longer- and I just happened to have my camera with me So why not capture this goofy moment for him. I will be applying this layout for the sketch #109 at The Scrappiest .

 I kinda change it up a little and put the title at the top so I could put the trees at the bottom. I used American Crafts, cardstock papers, cardboard that I crimped, misc alphas- paper and  epoxy stickers, twine, inks and metal brads.

I'm just cranking out the layouts this week...

Here are a few more pages I did for some challenges this week. I have been on a roll and creative juices flowing- plus the weather hasn't been to great- but great for me to spend some time in the scrapbook room. The first one is for the sketch#108 at The Scrappiest- its a Magic Kingdom page of my 2 sons, cousin and Me back in 2004- before I was scrapbooking and these are the only photos I took with the beautiful castle in the background.

Materials used: My Mind's Eye and We R Memories, cream and white cardstock papers.
Chalks, starburst stamp, black ink, circle punches, yarn, alpha stamps, pop dots and prism stickers.

This layout of my 2 sons trying to break open a pinata (which the boys made) blindfolded and with a fly swatter at my son's 8th grade graduation party back in 2004 is for  Sassy Lil Sketches this week.

The Scrappiest layouts #104 and #105

Here is my take on two challenges over at The Scrappiest this past week- they kept me very busy with all their wonderful sketches so here they are. Sketch #104 is the first one here. I used all My Mind's Eye designer Complete Boy paper stack  and some cardstock for the title cut from Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge. I distressed all the edges by sanding them and painted the border/mats of the photos in a cream acrylic paint.

 I then added some twine to the handmade circle journal tag and to the top of the page. And lastly, drew the flyswatter as a cute little embellishment by the title

 This next take is from Sketch #105 at The Scrappiest and I used K&I Memories cute doggy/puppy papers, inked all the edges in brown and added some rub-ons and sticker alpha's from my stash. I also drew a brown dash border around the papers and added one floral embellishment at the top for this cute and simple page.

Sketches 100 & 101 from The Scrappiest

I'm posting two layouts here on this post for the sketches 100 and 101 over at The Scrappiest- this week they have been keeping me busy with all their great sketches.
Here is sketch 100 titled "Monkey Business" I used K&Company papers from the Urban stack and white cardstock, cut out two large tags and attached some yellow ribbon on them, added a K&Company embellishment for the title and saw this tutorial this week on these round yarn embellishments and had to try them out. They are so simple to make and I really like how they turned out and look great too. I used bright yellow yarn and added a large orange metal buckle like brad and a smaller white brad in the middle, then with black marker added the words goofing around on the edge of this yarn embellishment- not sure what to call them.

 This next sketch is #101 and I used  all K&Company papers again with the pink and green colors for these photos of my cousin "the bride" with me and my daughter taken back in 2004. I made my flowers with 5 different flower punches and attached a brad in the middle and curled the petals with my piercing tool, and some green rhinestones and the title "Cousins" I used a glue pen to write and added pink glitter to it

You make everything more Beautiful...

Here is a beautiful page I did for my daughter's scrapbook with 2 pictures of her and then boyfriend (now Fiance (spell?) back in September 2004 at my cousin's wedding. I used several designer papers - Basic Grey, Bo-Bunny, My Minds Eye, some large silk flowers, sticker rhinestones, Staz-On saddle brown ink, and a 3-D black gel pen, Diamond Stickles and the fiskars circle cutter. I will be applying this layout to The Scrappiest #96 this weekand also Frosted Designs "Fridays Challenge" to use a quote on a card or layout this week. Which I hand wrote my quote

 Instead of just journaling the basic stuff I added a quote/ saying to the left side. My color inspiration came from my daughter's blouse which worked out well with these Bo-Bunny papers I found on my trip to Las Vegas last week when I went to a few scrapook stores out there. I believe she will really like this page added to her scrapbook collection- I'm sure -if not I would like to add it to my scrapbook...lol

2 Clowns-Jenna and Izzy

Here is my take of Sketch #88 over at The Scrappiest of my two Eskies dressed as clowns for Halloween this year- Aren't they the cutest girls? Well I thinks so- but I'm a little bias. Well, I used  several Halloween papers, also for the mats on photo's, ribbons, halloween buttons on the flag banner which I cut out and added circle punches to stamp the title on and used pop dots, trick or treat and other chipboard embellies-  and inked edges.
