Creative Scrappers #227
Here is my take for the sketch over at Creative Scrappers #227 this week of my daughter's wedding in Jamaica. I used papers from a wedding stack for the background and added stickles to the rose for more dimension, used a border punch for each side of the pictures and then added some silk flowers and ribbon to tie on the two metal rings- and added a journal spot for the title.

Triangles for Frosted Designs challenge
Labels:
Frosted Design challenge,

Here is my layout for using triangles on a project for Frosted Designs challenge this week. All papers were from DCWV- Cherry limeade paper stack- just love the colors and patterns. I cut out two sizes of flag banners and inked the edges and stamped my title on them and hung with some blue and white twine. I also added several embellishments- punched butterflies, flower stickers and inked some clouds.

Here is my take of the sketch this week over at Sketches in Thyme Sept 3 part one. its a 2-pager with several photos with a horizontal layout. I love how this simple page I did turned out for my scrapbook of my daughters wedding.
I didn't want the attention to be the paper or embellies I wanted these wonderful pictures to stand out - yet capture the feeling of the Jamaican/ocean side wedding. The background papers are Cloud9Designs and the striped x x punched is from My Mind's Eye I then just cut out some simple words for the sub titles along the top of the pictures and made my own two little journaling spots with paper stamped with brown foam shells.I used my cricut cartridge Life is a Beach for the 3 lawn chairs which I layered them for 3-D effect with pop dots. Last added some pale yellow ribbon along the bottom of the pictures and tied 2 simple bows. I love it!

Byron Colby Barn reception
Labels:

This layout is some misc pics of the simple repeat ceremony in the courtyard of the reception Barn for my daughters wedding. The title and the barn are cricut cuts and the butterfly sunflower border strip is by K&Company. I used several of the same papers throughout all the layouts for this album which are from misc. paper stacks and Basic Grey. I matted the pictures with cardstock and tied a chipboard dated flower on the one side. The three individual pics are of 3 of my 4 children that were there and the bridal party and then there is me making a grand entrance with the flower girls and ring bearer( my dogs and their dog) before the ceremony. As you can tell this was a very casual affair- and we had so much fun.

Cutting the Cake
Labels:
cricut layouts,
Wedding layouts
Here is a 2-page layout I did at the scrapbook retreat this past weekend-
I really enjoy this page- I haven't done too many pages with the honeycomb shape- so I thought this was perfect- since there theme was "Meant to BEE" I used papers from my stash that coordinated with wedding theme and beehives- AI inked the edges and torn the sides then with my Gypsy and Cricut cut a whole 12 x 12 sheet of mustard yellow cardstock with many hexagons from a cartrdige ( I think it was George Basics)inked all the edges in 3 colors of brown and stamped some cute little bees on a few of them. I placed one sunflower and tied some twine and attached- just like the cake and this page was completed!

Wedding layouts
I was at a weekend Scrapbooking retreat held by Scrap Cabana in St. Charles, Illinois last weekend and I did an amazing amount of layouts 62 of them WOW...and I had so much fun- meeting new friends-scrapping and making memories..it was great and I'm going again on October (just in 3 1/2 weeks). Here is the layout that I won first place with- choosen by all the women at the scrap- such a honor and thrill to win this...
I had wonderful pictures to worth with this time- my daughters second wedding/reception that was held here in Lake County Illinois on Memorial Day this past year- and her theme was "Meant to Bee" chic/vintage/country and it was decorated beautifully. So it was very easy to find papers and embellies to finish this layout. The golden scalloped laser cut is by We R Memories, and the polka dot background is by Basic Grey- I inked alot of the edges and added some silk flowers and one big sunflower (like in her bouquet).
I stamped on a few bees and beehive and used glitter sticker alpha's for the title. The flourishes I made myself -using tulip paint on acetate and then cutting them out after they were dry and placed on the layout.

The leaves I cut out of green paper - embossed them with my Cuttlebug and then lightly sanded - and of course I used Stickles in the center of all the flowers . I really liked how this turned out and it seems like everyone else did too at the wonderful retreat last weekend.
If any of you live in or nearby this area- you should check this retreat out- its amazing and such a great price- The next one in October will be held in Aurora- which is booked I heard, but she (Michelle) has retreats every month (total of 10 a year) go to www.thescrapcabana.com if you book with her mention my name- so I will get credit which will go towards my next retreat ...Thanks!!- Happy scrappin!

Campers have S'more fun..
Labels:

This is the last 2 pages of this Summer Camp album I did for my friend and I'm so excited about how it turned out. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with all the letters that she wanted to keep from her friends while at camp and how I was going to have them in this book. But I thought for some time- and this is what I came up with A Pocket! I used several coordinating papers and lots of little embellies scattered on the two pages- such as the snores, fire, canoe and bug net. I also added a few journaling tags for her to write on and the pocket is on the right side of the two page layout- with the letters folded and a ribbon tied around them.
Here you can see them in the pocket
So she will always have them for her keepsakes. I machine stitched the pocket on to give it more strength and added a brown polk a dot ribbon the the top edge for more sturdiness. Well, all together I did 32 pages for this Summer Camp album and enjoyed working on every page- it was an adventure for me too.. girls at this age dont think about scrapping these pictures they are taking they just take pictures...lol

The Banquet
Labels:

I just love the colors and the layout of this page..the pictures were kind of hard to work with- but I did the best I could with the colors and my hand made embellies. I took some chipboard and cut out my own scalloped shapes, painted them, wrapped some colored twine and added a flower brad to the center of them -whoolah- I really like them. I also tore the papers and machine stitched a zig-zag over the torn areas and all around the border and added some bright colors behind to make the page really pop...again this is anothe layout for summer camp album for my friend. I think she is gonna really like this page!

Heading off to Camp...
Labels:
Tracy pages
Should of posted this one first- since it's the cover page for this album I'm doing for a friend of her daughters adventures at Summer Camp. She wanted the program to be scrapped, which limited me to space- but it all worked out well. I added a precut embellishment to this page (so cute) the Happy camper and I cut out the headin into the great outdoors from some camping papers that fit right into this spot real well without covering up any of the program. I tore the edges and inked them and placed one picture of her daughter at her bunk house. This will be a great cover or first page for this album- I'm sure.

Talent Show
Labels:
Tracy pages
Wow how colorful is this layout I did? As you can see I brought out all the colors that were in the pictures. And since it was a talent show I placed a few stars on the page, also made a colorful banner which makes coordinates with the girls pants in the pictures. I sprayed mist the background with blues and greens and did a faux stitching on the border edge. I braided some twine to hang the banner on in several colors. No mats on pictures just drew black lines around each of them to make it look like a mat.

Sometimes layouts are hard to figure out- like this one! The pictures were kinda dark and awkward to work with. So I used colorful papers to pop the page and just gave it a title of the place these girls were visiting and the activity of bowling this day and added a few embellies.

Now this page was super simple to do and it looks great with the precut laser pages already done. I just had to find the right pictures to fit into the frames. And I love how it turned out for my friend of her daughter at summer camp.

Camp 2 page layout
Labels:
Tracy pages
Here is a 2 page layout I did for a friend- her kids going to summer camp...I usually dont use precut laser pieces but this one of the cabin was so darn cute I just had to find a place to use it -in one of the many layouts I did. I then cut some trees out of several green cardstocks and inked them and arranged them on the two pages
The name of the camp was a cricut cut which I used my Gypsy and backed it with gold paper to stand out against the green cardstocks. Added the camp sweet camp banner between the two pictures and I was finished . Plain and yet simple I like these kind of layouts.
