Quiet as a Mouse...and Happy as a Lark....

I just love my dogs...  Jenna and Izzy. This is my DT layout of the Sketch Along Tuesdays over at Frosted Designs #16- Titled  Quiet as a Mouse... Their like babies -so cute even when their sleeping and they are very quiet and cuddly when they are in the bed at night..both of my girls.
I did two layouts one of each dog-had to be fair -so its kinda a two page layout for my scrapbook. Here is the sketch designed by Debbie Burns- which I turned around a bit to fit my photos.
And here are my two adorable Eskies: I used the same papers and cuts in each one. Background paper is from Coredinations-Color Core one in teal & black and the other in orange & black- which I sanded horizontally and then used my Galaxy chalk marker to make vertical lines over the sanded look. Added a doily which I sprayed with Tattered Angel mists and used Doodle Charms and Accent Essentials   Cricut cartridges for the misc cuts.
Papers used were all from K&I-- orange, yellow and blue graph designs  from the set called "Pet Shop",
other embellies were rub-ons, heart ribbon, twine in two colors, sticker alphas, chipboard, inks, rhinestones and Stickles. I used a 3-D Glaze pen for the title and a sanding block tool, and pop-dots
The second layout is of my Izzy and I titled hers "Happy as a Lark" she is so content and always has a huge smile... Thanks for coming and looking at my layour this week and hope to see you again for the next Sketch Along Tuesdays challenge I love to see what you create- I get so many wonderful ideas form everyone.

Creative Scrappers #157

Here is a quick page I did the other night for Creative Scrappers #157. Its a photo of 3 of my 4 kids at Universal Studios when we went there in 2005.
I found this paper with a map of the united states and thought -great I llike this and it has the colors I want also. So I didn't want to cover it up to much so added a few embellishments and ink the edges and did a little journal spot and it was done.

Brians First Paycheck

This is a few photos of my son back in 2005- he was so excited to receive his first paycheck working at Jewel- and I was so proud of him to go out and get his first job as soon as he turned 16. And its now 6 years later and he still has a great job at Jewel- while attending college This sketch is from Sketches in Thyme #48.
I used K&Company papers from my old stash, inked and distressed the edges, stapled on a white mesh, and from my stash of paint chips used for the background mat of photos and the strip for the stamped $ signs. I found some chipboard sayings that were appropriate for this page and added a few metal large button brads, and found the dollar bill picture in a magazine and cut it out.

Ice Cream....

Now, that I'm back from my Bowling Tournament in Syracuse New York- I found a little time to do a layout which I'm applying toward three challenges. The sketch is from Let's Capture these Sketches #52, and over at The Studio Challenges this qualifies for lots of dimension, layers and chunky on a layout, and My favorite Things- because this was the favorite photo of my son on our vacation back in 2005- because he didn't want his picture taken and I surprised him with this shot of him- so that is why he has the look he does.
I used papers from My Mind's Eye complete boy stack(love the papers in this pak) used my Gypsy/Cricut  to cut the scalloped edge, torn and inked edges on all the papers. found these cute ice cream cones and chipboard ice cream treats in my stash and added pop dots for dimension and painted the chipboard to resemble a waffle cone which is hard to see and then journaled on top of it. Added some brads and ticket and the title is small but is above my son's pic and have the letters Ice cream circled.

Sketch Along Tuesdays Challenge -DT layout

I really stepped out of the box on this one- I'm not use to using so much texture and a contemporary looking sketch- but I had fun doing this and like the outcome of this page of my son and his friend. We just happen to pass a store in Upper Michigan, which had the same last name as my son's friend- so we had to get a picture of them in front of this antique store called  "Fagan's"

So since this was an antique store I used some vintage looking paper, ribbons, metal key and distressed the other embellies. For the textured background  I used a piece of cut up burlap and then with misc stamps by Autumn Leaves, punched out the circle tags for the title.
Here is the sketch #15 that we worked with -designed by Karin at Frosted Designs-- Sketch along Tuesdays- I hope you join us and enter your layout, I would love to see what you come up with and have a chance to win a fabulous prize from our sponsor.

Going on a bowling trip ....

Well, this morning I'm heading off to Syracuse, New York for 4 days to compete in the Women's Nationals Bowling Tournament- 2011. There is a group of 70 of us ladies from my area that go every year, where ever it is being held and have a grand ole' time and we all hope to bowl our best this weekend. And if not, well we sure do have alot of laughs and great memories for years to come.

For the past 8 years that I have gone- I started to make these little cards to write and keep track of our individual scores in and to keep the picture that the USBC gives us with our team photo inside and now everyone looks forward to this little momentum that I've been making and this year is no different. I kinda ran out of time so I qucikly did this design for our event in Syracuse with the USBC logo-  the yellow circle and the state of New York (Cricut cartridge-50 states), and did alot of other stamping in black ink. I make 80 of them every year and give some to my mom in Arkansas who goes also with a smaller group of women in June- so I have an asssembly line going in my craftroom when I get working on these.
Well have a great weekend everyone and I'll be back Monday to see all the wonderful layouts and projects that I'm going to miss. And hopefully , with great news that I bowled better than average and maybe even win some money!!!

Cherich- special moments

Here is a wonderful sketch from Let's Capture these Sketches- which mine is titled" Cherish- Special moments" It's actually one photo that I cut in half and used misc. scraps of paper with all kinds of colors and patterns. Used several floral punches, brads, stickles, ribbon, flower button, alpha stickers, brown and black inks and a Zig writer.
I hand drew little stiches around burgandy border paper and added some polka dot ribbon with a flower embeelie from my stash. I used papers that had some of the same colors as everyones outfits- except the black suit that my son has on. This was taken at my cousins wedding back in 2005- my husband and my four grown children- youngest to oldest.(from the left)
I punched the many sizes and shapes of flowers and then used my piercing tool to roll the petals a bit, and just hand cut some green leaves and inked them up a bit and scattered them around

The Rels

This turned out to be a quick layout for me and the sketch is from Sketches in Thyme as the challenge to do to be choosen as a new maven- which I did not enter for that- I was to late- but this sketch was great for these 2 photo's and I thought I'd share it with you. It's a few fun photos of my relatives at my cousins wedding- which brings back the memories of all the good times that we had that day and how silly all my relatives can be- I gotta love em' for that.
I used K&Company specialty papers which I hand cut out the flowers and leaves, and plain cream/light yellow cardstock from Colorbok. Puffy foam white alphas for the title, tan cardstock for mats which I tore, coffeebean ink by Paper Salon, pop dots and a white gel pen..and it was done I like when I can choice the papers and get going on a layout.

Handsome Young Man...my son

Here is my take for the challenge of using mist, inks, or paint on a project at The Paper Variety. I used paints and inks on this layout of my son while dressed up for a wedding a few years back. I hand painted the flourishes on the top and the bottom of page and also hand painted the mats around the three pictures in cream. I also used some black ink for distressing on the papers.
I love the colors that I pulled out in the page(masculine) and the grey textured special paper in the background pulled it all together well and added a few little flowers and brads. I wrote the title on the pinwheels (which were cut from the papers I used from my all scraps) by hand "Handsome young man"
Here are a few close-ups :
I then added Stickles glitter to my hand painted flourishes for a little bling.

Surprise 40th Birthday party for me!

This is a 2 page layout of my 40th birthday party back in 2000- you might say I'm giving away my real age- but thats ok Im fine with being 51. This is one of the challenges over at The Studio challenge this week. I used several cricut cuts, some old ribbon with bead trim, and made the banner for the title of SURPRISE. This was a bit hard to do because ther were so many not so good photos taken, yet I wanted to remember this day in my scrapbook. So here it is. I have each page posted seperately also below.

How cute is this!!!

I did this layout with birds and butterflies on it. Which were cut from Cricut cartridges, and I made my own little nest for the birdie from a shredded or cut up paper bag

Here is my take for the sketch over at Creative Scrappers #154- which I just love how this page/layout turned out of my cousins wedding. The photo is a black and white which they sent out with their thank-yous.
I used papers from DCWV Lace and Linen stack, Cricut cuts are from Tie the Knot, Home accents and Serenade, cartridges. Doilies placed on background and pictures matted on distressed and inked paper.
