I was Chosen one of the winners at Fantabulous Cricut.

When I went to my blog this morning I was surprised to see that I was one of the winners over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog this week for my butterfly wall hanging. We were to enter something "winged" on a layout, card or altered project. I usually do layouts ,but thought I'd try something different this week and made this hanging for my craft room. I want to thank Monique Griffith (sponsor this week) for the choice of one of her amazing kits that she has designed, and those at Fantabulous Cricut for all their time and effort. This made my Day. Thank-you

Practical Scrappers "buttons"

This is my entry for the Practical Scrappers challenge to use buttons in your project. I like to use buttons so I have several pages to choose from. This page is a photo op of my step-son and his family and our first granddaughter taken this past August. I used paper from the summer paper pack and a pre stamped saying "all you need is LOVE is all you need" I used chipboard for the heart that I filled with buttons that I also tied thread to each one of them. I used some small acrylic stamps for the words that I stamped all over the background papers.

The Pink Elephant Challenge "chipboard & paint"

Here is my layout for The Pink Elephant challenge this week using chipboard and paint, this is my first entry. I used a purple plaid paper as background to pull out the colors in my son's shirt. I then layered a cream colored crackled paper on top, then angled a piece of green with purple dots on top of that. I painted the title Graffiti in purple acrylic paint and added a few pieces of chipboard like the arrow, vacation and left corner attached with brads. I made a journaling tag and a sticker(silly) attached with a yellow brad. I used pop dots on the lower center picture to stand out a bit.

Creative Scrappers Challenge- (sketch #101)

I did a layout of my stepson at his college graduation back in 2003.I used an extra program to cut up and use in my layout and added a few embellishments and cuts, very simple. Wild Card  cartridge for the cap, diploma and Congrats, and George Basic Shapes for the Way to Go!. I added my own tassle made with embroidery black thread and inked the edges in brown and used a gold metallic marker for some lines on the page.

Frosted Design "mask something" challenge

In my challenge I did a layout of my DH and DSS when they did another 5K -Snow Fun Run in January in Lake Geneva (tradition)in 2000. I masked the snowflakes on light blue cardstock using 3 different colors of glimmer mist sprays, then attached some felt snowflakes on top and sprinkled glitter all over the left side of the page. I used Accent Essentials cartridge to cut the darker blue snowflakes to attached on top of the felt ones. Then used Tear Drop cart. for the letters in Snow Fun Run.

Practical Scrappers Sketch by 5/1

These are  some pictures of our summer volleyball team years ago(2001) and we took first place...pretty good for a bunch of "Old Timers". I used two patterned papers and solid cardstock for all the cuts and chalked most of them. The carts I used for this layout are P.S.- Were #1, FMK-pizza, SM-volleyball,Spike it, AE-for the teal swirls, GBS- for the triangles in banner.I'm using this sketch for the Practical Scrappers challenge due by May 1st.

FCCB #6 Challenge "Winged"

This week over at Fantabulous Cricut the challenge of the week was  "winged" anything that flies, like a butterfly, dragon,or etc. I thought I'd would do something different instead of my usual layouts. I came up with this really cute wall hanging for my craftroom. I was inspired by my curtains for the color theme and I like butterflies. So I used SYI for the circle theme border and welded with my Gypsy 4 different butterflies in each center (2 from GW and 2 from LL).I cut them out of white cardstock , used chipboard and glued on 4 different color papers on each one, that matched my colors in my curtains(that I also made years ago) then put the white cutout on top. I used prima flowers and attached with button brads and tied some Karen Foster scrappers floss in brown on each flower. I then used Stickles "Diamond"  put that around the center frame of each butterfly. I used a ribbon glued to the back of each frame to hang. I'm am really happy how this little project turned out and it looks really good hanging in my wonderful room, it's so bright and cheery.

Creative Scrappers Challenge- (sketch #100)

Over at Creative Scrappers they have a sketch challenge due by April 30th, so here is my layout of the sketch. I used a Close to my Heart kit "Grace" and made my own flowers using my gypsy and AE cartridge and the papers from this kit so it all matches really well. I added little rhinestones around the flowers and 2 tags. I also sanded the edges of the blue paper and the circle to make them stand out a bit, and inked the edges in coffee bean brown. My title was a saying from the kit that went with my daughters Junior H.S. picture.

LID Challenge / Practical Scrappers week 4/17-4/23

Here is my take on sketch #2 for LID Challenge - Titled IZZY. I used a fushia cardstock and some swirl patterned paperin pinks, browns, greens for the strips using fiskars decorative scissors to cut all the edges. I added white rick rack and inked most edges in coffee bean brown. I used my glimmer mists to color the silk flowers to match my paper colors and attached with a pink brad and some scrappers floss. I put my title in a different spot because it fit and look better on the left side., using cricut cartridge Tear Drop for the letters in 2 different sizes.

Over at Paper Poppy- another place I found this week they are having a challenge to include the following in a project: Colors -black & white, music symbol, andsong lyrics in the title. This adorable layout of my 2 dogs Jenna & Izzy is what I came up with this week.I used several cartridges on this layout also. Mickey and Friends for the bone borders cut twice and layered and I wrote in white marker some doggy sayings on them and pop dot them. Tags, boxes and more I used for the frames of the dogs to kinda look like windows-put some clear plastic on them and used white marker to make it look like a window, which may be hard to see in this picture. Lyrical Letters to do all the wording and musical notes all done on my Gypsy. I used a musical note paper and some other patterned black and white with a bit of poppy colored in it and black, brown and poppy colored cardstock. I again had fun doing this page..I just love my dogs I think they are the cutest .

Frosted Designs challenge "Tree"

Over at Frosted Designs which I just joined the other day they are having a challenge in honor of Earth day coming up and it is to have a "Tree" in your project somewhere, so this is what I came up with which took me about 4 hours to do, but I think it turned out great.
I used many different items on this page. Papers used were by Paper Co. brown & green cardstock,EK Success and K&C company patterned papers,Fiskars template "woodgrain" for the tree trucks, chipboard letters by Cloud9 Designs "our Home"silk flowers, brads, brown distress ink, metal hearts, owl cutouts from The Paper Studio papers, embroidery floss, vellum sayings. I used the following cartridges : SYI for the trees and layered more leaves on top and put some green stickles on them. Lyrical Letters for the address 316, brackets, birds, and the butterfly. Just Because for the rabbit, birdhouse, squirrel and birds. I had alot of fun with this page...this is the most detailed layout I have done so far.

FCCB #5 Challenge water theme

This week at FCCB the challenge is to do a project using the theme "water" and since I do all layouts this is what I was working on this week. I used Wild card for the umbrella, and the square cut out , Jasmine for the lettering and Life's a Beach for the diver, and Life preserver. I just now noticed it is hard to see the title "Madison" and the sub title" A rainy day in". I also used a lazer cut- looks like waves on the bottom of the page and added glitter to it. I journaled around all the pictures.

Thursday, April 15

Here is a sketch from Creative Scrappers that I really liked so I did a few pages using this sketch. This is my DS in 5th grade back in 2000, and I thought I could get away with using flowers because he has a floral shirt on. I used PS for all the lettering and used a new punch for the border and hand stitched with black thread the circles on each page. I stamped the hibiscus flower on colored and white paper and then cut them out and attached with red and orange brads.

The 3 larger circles on the left were attached with colored brads.I used the Fiskars circle cutter for all these larger circle cuts. The titles I used my cricut cartridge Jasmine and my Gypsy to weld The Good Times together, using a dk. blue cardstock. This is me and DH years ago out at the local bar and grill just being silly and having fun.

L.I.D. Challenge Sketch 2 week of4/2- 4/9

Here is my take on sketch 2 I used JB for the car truck and wagon cuts, DC for the bus, and JAS for the title and George to cut the circles. I attached 3 ribbons with polka dots. Added a journal tag to this sketch cause I needed to do some journaling and like the area here. In place of the buttons I used JB and cut out the 2 circles with a wagon and a truck on them. I used white cardstock for the title and sprayed a red color wash by Tim Holtz, then outlined the circles in blue marker to stand out more. This page is for my son Brian in the red and blue shirt, that is him in the pic on the bottom right corner. I made 2 more pages for my other 2 kids in the picture.
This layout is for Daughter Cheryl and her picture is in the lower right corner using all same carts but arranged them on this layout a little different.

And this layout is for son Eric in the green and did smaller 1/2 circles and sprayed the palaymates in red color wash and then added red glitter to it.

L.I.D. Challenge 4/2- 4/9

Here is my sketch 1 layout Took awhile to find so many pictures. I used Jas for title Playmates and JB for the car border. Added a tag for the article that I saved from the Woman's Day magazine back in Jan 1992 explaining the play mat I made with a vinyl tablecloth that I painted a village and roads on for the kids to play with all there car and trucks and little animal figurines. FCCB #3 Challenge Bling it on.

Here is my Bling it On - Challenge for FCCB #3 this week. I used 2 papers by The Angel Company and a dark greyish black paper for decorative strip cut from GW sprayed with glimmer Mist in Pearl and attached rhinestones also. I cut the title from LL and covered with black diamond stickles. The boots were from JB and outlined in a silver gelly roll pen and a small rhinestone attached to the 3 different boots.I love the colors in this layout they match the background of the photos and the golden color in my hair. These pictures were taken in a glamour studio back in 1994 with a few friends of mine when I was going thru my divorce, they (friends) talked me into doing this. It was fun then, but even funnier now looking at these pictures- I have to laugh. I am also using Sketch 2 this week from the L.I.D. challenge.

L.I.D. Challenge for 3/27 - 4/2 Sketch 1

This is my take on Sketch 1 of this weeks challenge I used Doodle charms for the apple cuts, along with my Gypsy to get the 2 different sizes. I made a pocket on the left side to put the journaling tag, but instead I put a pull out picture of my daughters class picture since I didn't have to much to journal about with a ribbon attached to pull out of pocket. I put a little green glitter glue on leaves of the apples .
